Let the Word of God Give You Light - October 25, 2021

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success - Joshua 1:8

Friend, do you agree with me that just because you can't see something doesn't mean it isn't there? For example, you can look out through your back window on a moonless night when it is very dark, and you may not be able to see your patio. But that doesn't mean your patio is gone. It simply means you can't see it. You need to turn on the light. Similarly, we sometimes become concerned that we can't "see" God's promises coming to pass in our lives. But that doesn't mean His Word is of no effect. We just can't see it because we have not spent enough time in the Word of God for the light of His Word to dawn in our hearts. But if we'll start meditating on those promises, the Bible says, "you will observe." In other words, you'll start to see!

Most of the time, we meditate on the problems or what our physical senses can perceive giving room to worry, anxiety and fear. However, instead of meditating on the problems, we can deliberately start meditating on the Word of God. If fear tries to rise up (and I assure you it will), just slap it down. You don't have to be afraid. When the "yeah-but-what-ifs" come up, just go back over what the Word says again. Begin to see how your life would change if you keep doing what the Word says.

Let the Holy Spirit use the Word to paint a picture of that promise coming to pass in your life. Dear friend, it may take a while for you to see your full harvest manifested, but if you continue to study, meditate, and do what the Word says, you’ll develop confidence in God, and the light of His Word will guide your steps. You cannot fail with facts. Start today!

Application: I meditate on the Word of God constantly and observe to do according to all that’s written in it. I am walking in the light of the Word.

Scripture reading for the day – Psalm 62:1-12.

Why are the children of God experiencing failure? Why are we not actualizing the great destinies that God has prepared for us? Why are unbelievers successful and the children of God suffering in insufficiency? Knowledge is the key. You cannot rise above your knowledge!
