Daniel 6:10
“Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened towards Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before”.

Most Christians are great starters, but not always great finishers. We get inspired and excited about our life and the kind of life that is available to us through the Word of God, but we are not always consistent in our attempts to achieve that lifestyle. Consistency is doing the same thing over and over again without wavering even when we have not seen the result. Consistency means persistence, not compromising, free from distractions, resolute. Lack of consistency among believers is a factor to be addressed at this time. A lot of Christ centered, very well started businesses ended in ruins due to inconsistency in the mode of operation. For example, a grocery store has the sign on the door that they would open at 9:00am Monday to Friday. They do this for a while and then after a while, you get there at 11:00am, they are not open. When asked why they delay opening, their response is that the customers are not really coming and that is why they are not opening. a consistent business person will open anyway and expect customers to come, even if it takes years.

Daniel could have decided to throw in the towel and say, "well, God understands. They have decreed that we should not pray to Him, so I will just not, He knows I have to obey the decree". But because he had developed consistency in his life, he just had to do it. The scripture says "just as he has done before". He would not compromise his stand. Consistency means that you do what you always do regardless of the conditions surrounding you.

You do not stop doing what you need to do or what you have determined to do in order to move to your next level of success because things don't look good, or because it became more difficult, or because the results are not forthcoming as you dreamed. My husband says that you do the same thing consistently for a year, and see if you will not see the result.

Romans 10:17- Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of GodNow, by hearing means hearing and hearing and hearing consistently, not hearing one time and giving up. You have to keep hearing: by coming to church, listening to tapes, CDs, messages on line and also hearing yourself speak faith filled words and obey those word we hear. That is consistency.

In order get to our God given destinies, we need to be consistent in what we do. When God gives us an idea, we need to pursue it relentlessly, work on it consistently without losing focus or getting distracted. It may be uncomfortable at first, but as we strive to keep going, it becomes natural for us to do that thing. According to Bro. Jerry Savelle, if we want a lifestyle that is marked by the blessing and favor of God, consistency is the name of the game.
