1 Corinthians 16: 9 "because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me"

Today, I want to talk to us about walking through those doors to our destiny. We all have an idea or ideas what our destiny is. If you ask a little child what he wants to be in life, he would probably name highly placed positions. Today we will learn what God has to do our destiny and what we have to do with it.

God’s side

God has a purpose for each of us His children and nothing can change that purpose for as long as we stay within His will. The movie of your life has already been made. The book of your life has already been written

Jer. 1:5 - “Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you,  before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

A movie is not written when it comes out in the theaters. It has been written long before it is released. The movie of your life is coming out. It is a best seller. I say it is a best seller. Heaven and earth will endorse your movie. I say, people will applaud your destiny.

He has planned for us to do great things - Eph. 2:10 says "for we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God has prepared in advance for us to do".

He has destined us for sufficiency - 2 Cor 9:8-10 says "God is able to make all grace abound to us so that in ALL things and at ALL times having all that you will need".

He has destined us for health and prosperity - 3 John 2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in good health as your soul prospers"

Great riches - Eph. 3:8 "this grace was given to me to preach to the gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ"

God has predestined us to be glorified with Jesus -Rom. 8:30 "those He predestined, He also called, He also justified, He also glorified".

Our side

The responsibility lies with us to get to our destiny. It is not the responsibility of God to push us to our destiny.

Psalm 118: 19-20 says "open for me the gates or doors of righteousness and I WILL enter and give thanks to the Lord".

Most of us expect God to open the door and also walk or carry us to our destiny. God will not reverse the future to come and meet you, you have to take steps. Action connects dreams to fulfillment, it transforms vision to possession.

What are the things we can do to get to our destinies?

Have a vision of your destiny. Abraham had to see the Land to possess it -Gen. 13:14-15. Ask God to give you a sneak preview of your destiny. I started praying this prayer when my spiritual parents started sharing how they got sneak previews to their destinies through prophesies and revelations. John 16: 13, the bible says that the Holy Spirit will tell you of the future. So it is not out of the ordinary to ask God for a definite sneak preview of your destiny in accordance to His written will.

Have an expectation of your destiny. Many people have left their future blank; they are not expecting anything, so they get to their destination to find nothing. Your expectation will always set the pace for your experience. When a movie is made, people have expectations to when it is coming out. I say the movie of your life has been made and it is a bestseller in Jesus name. Declare your expectation. You have to declare your expectation daily. Micah 6:1. says that you need to declare or plead your case before the mountains and the hills.

Walk towards your destiny. No matter how slow your steps may be, take them anyway. Be calculative in the steps that you take, be a planner. Whoever fails to plan, plans to fail. The prodigal son in Luke 15:17-19 had 3 facts about his father’s house and planned on those facts.

1. His father’s servants had more than enough food to eat.

2. His father will forgive him if he returned home.

3. If his father didn’t accept him as son, he would be a servant.

With these facts, he walked home to his destiny.

You need to gather your facts from the word of God. Study the manual.

You need to walk with endurance   Avoid distractions and walk with courage. Courage is taking steps despite your fears

Walk with precision and sensitivity. Be sensitive eno.ugh to know when to change direction but never to stop walking. Ps. 112 :5b -"A good man will guide his affairs with discretion"

The enemy does not want us to fulfill our destinies John 10:10. Paul said in our theme passage that there is much opposition. Oppositions come through man, thoughts, obstacles after we have done all. We need to put on the armor of God. If we want to walk through a great door to our destinies we need to be well dressed.

Dress for your destiny in the armor of God. Eph.6:10-18. Remember, it is not your armor, it is God’s:

Helmet of salvation- you must be saved to be in this

Breastplate of righteousness is important for the devil is our accuser

Gospel of peace- not slander, cursing, fussing, backstabbing

Belt of truth holds everything together

Shield of faith stops arrows of distraction, frustration, discouragement.

Sword of the spirit- This is the only weapon of offense, all others are defensive weapons Everything covers the front because you fight moving forward not backward and the enemy is not interested in your past, but your future. Do not be half dressed. Be completely dressed.

Walk in to your destiny with your eyes open and ready to enjoy.

Shalom
